Willem's goal for the future solution was to make it easier for guitarists to add and remove guitar pedals from a pedalboard without the limitations in usage space.
How did you reach your goal?
“As a guitarist myself I know how frustrating pedalboards can be. There is a lot of space loss and Velcro fastener can get loose while kicking the pedals. That’s why I wanted to create a compact, modular pedalboard that doesn’t get loose during a performance.”
So, what did you create?
“I created ‘Moboards’, an adjustable frame that clamps the pedals together. With this frame you always have a compact pedalboard without any space loss. By clamping the pedals together, you don’t need any fasteners or Velcro. It’s also much easier to change pedals or change the order of pedals. You place the pedals one by one on the pedalboard with small spacers between them. When all the pedals are placed, you shrink the frame till every pedal is fixed. Then you turn a knob on the side, which tightens the whole structure until the pedals are clamped together. This sturdy structure gives you a confident feeling, because the pedals can’t get loose anymore!”
